My October Wishlist

September 29, 2015

I'm sure all of you have your own wish lists right? You're on Sephora or Ulta and you see something you like, what do you do? Immediately add that item to a list of things you're already wanting to buy. Unfortunately I can't buy every single item on my wish list but it's nice to dream, right? So here is my wish list of products that I would like to hopefully purchase in October.

#1: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit, this palette is so expensive! $80? And I heard that it's smaller than one individual item from the line. The only reason why I even wanted this was to try out the blushes, I've heard great things about them but the only downside is that I've always had a bad experience with these Ambient lighting powders especially with my recent purchase of the luminous light power. I don't know if I would purchase this palette but it's something that I am wishing for.

#2: Sephora Pro Airbrush #55, I have about two other foundation brushes that I thought I loved until recently I realized that it doesn't do much for my foundation except make it look streaky. This brush had so many good reviews and I'm always seeing this being used, every time I went to Sephora and tried to get this brush it's gone! That must mean it's good? But i'm always look forward to getting new brushes since sometimes I get scared of using my beauty blender due to hearing stores about bacteria or bugs in them.

#3: OPI Classic Nail Lacquer (Chocolate Moose), it looks like a typical pink/brown nude shade and it's definitely not considered a fall color but it's a color that could be worn all year round. I always tend to go for these type of shades because I like how classy and glamorous it looks.

#4: Tarte Greatest Glitz Collector's Set & Portable Palettes, although I don't like the packaging I really think this is a great deal. The colors also look great and every year I rarely buy limited edition sets but this year I definitely need to. I always think that the colors look the same as another palette but then I soon start to regret my decision and it's too late because after the holidays these palettes are gone. I really like that there are 3 separate palettes and are portable because I can take them out of the package and store them easily. Neutrals are my go to shades when it comes to makeup and I love all these shades here, you can never have too many neutrals.

#5: Sephora Collection Rouge Infusion Lip Stain (Fig Ink), why is the Sephora Collection never talked about? I personally love these lip stains from Sephora. They're really moisturizing and is definitely a lip stain. I've tried so many lip stains in the past that are not stains at all. They claim to stain your lips but as soon as you wipe your lips with a tissue it's all gone. But this stain stayed on my lips all night, I was out to dinner and when I got home my lips were still pink. I have the color "Peony" and it was a little too pink for me but if I dab a little bit on my lips and spread it around my lips evenly then it doesn't look too bright for my skin tone.

#6: Sephora Collection Colorful Blush (I'm Quite Tipsy), this is the perfect shade of blush for the fall! It's a purple color and I think it would work with dark lips as well, Sephora blushes are quite pigmented and I've been trying to find an affordable plum/purple blush for the fall & winter.

#7: Alterna Bamboo Smooth Anti-Breakage Thermal Protectant Spray, recently I did my review on the Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil Mist and I love that product. The scent is also something that made me fall in love with the product since it's not strong and overpowering like other haircare products out there. The reason why I want to try this heat protectant spray is because the one I'm currently using is the Tresemme heat tamer spray and even though it's very affordable it isn't the greatest. For the first hour my hair will look somewhat wet on certain parts and then it looks like some strands of hair are stuck together. The next hour my hair looks extremely dry and I've experimented with other heat protectant sprays, when I use the Tresemme my hair is drier than it is with other sprays. The Alterna heat protectant spray had good reviews and it seems to be the same scent as my oil mist so I would like to use those two together to see how it works out.

  1. I wanted the ambient palette too, but it's SO expensive that it's become a ridiculous splurge!!! But i really love how pretty it is :)

    1. I wish that they at least made it a bigger size if they were going to make it that expensive!

  2. Lovely list! I want that Hourglass palette so bad, but I already have the smaller one so I don't think I'll make the splurge

    1. I had the smaller one but I returned it, I felt like it did nothing for my makeup. If this was $50 or less I would make the splurge for sure.

  3. It's such a shame the Hourglass pans are so small in that palette because I think everyone can tell it's not very good value unless you just really want to try a bit of everything, but chances are most people who are fans of the brand already own at least one of the powders, blushes or bronzers. I have the Sephora #55 brush though and I fall in and out of love with it. It's really quite loose and my favourite foundation brushes are but more dense like the #45 or the RT Buffing Brush and I find because the hairs are so long it gives a lighter coverage but it's great for when you want to sheer out a fuller coverage foundation or are using a really thin formula - definitely worth picking up though if you've found you've had trouble with more densely packed brushes as it's pretty unique.

    1. I agree with you, if it was bigger like the other hourglass palettes then maybe I would understand the price. I've heard a lot about that brush and I am a little afraid to try it only because of the long bristles, but hopefully it works ok with my foundation once I get it.
