What I Got For Christmas: Beauty

December 31, 2015

I cannot believe it's almost 2016. I also cannot believe that Christmas is over and there still hasn't been snow! But anyways, I had a great Christmas with my family and I love this time of year because it really is all about spending time with the family and appreciating each other. But also, I love receiving and giving presents out because it's always nice knowing that you can make someone happy with a gift. I got other things for Christmas this year like books and clothes but I decided to only show the beauty products I got.

December Favorites

December 28, 2015

I'm so sad that December is coming to an end because it's one of my favorite months. Time flew by fast! But this month I learned to use some of my older products instead of reaching for the same ones I always used.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette I used to be obsessed with this palette because of how it smelt and because it had very neutral colors. Ever since I got my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette I feel like I've pushed this palette aside. This month I've been reaching for it a lot more and I'm so in love with it. Sometimes I'll use just the matte brown shades for my crease and then sometimes I'll just use a shimmer all over my lids. I think this palette has a lot of versatility which was why I loved it in the first place. I rarely use eyeliners but I've been trying to use them more and I love the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Whiskey). It's a matte brown shade and I found that using brown eyeliners made my look appear softer and not as harsh as it would whenever I did use a black eyeliner. These glide on so easily and they don't smudge throughout the day at all.

I used to hate highlighting because I thought it was only meant for people with dry to normal skin types. But obviously I realized that it is for every skin type and I've been obsessed with highlighting ever since. The MAC Mineralize Skinfinish (Soft and Gentle) was actually my first highlighter (I think) and at first I didn't think it was the greatest so I kept buying new highlighters, completely ignoring this one. I was running late one day and I reached for this highlighter then fell in love with it. It looked so glowy and I have no idea why I haven't used it much before.

Of course there will be a lip product mentioned, I mean....I am always using lip products. The Too Faced Perfect Lips Lip Liner (Perfect Nude) has been one of my favorites for a while and I feel like these lip liners aren't talked about enough! They are really pigmented and feel really smooth on my lips. They also last all day and can last through my meals. These lip liners are the ones that you twist up and I usually hate those kinds because they always break whenever I try to apply them, but these didn't break that easily which is also another reason why I love it.

I've already written a blog post (here) about the Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant (Vanilla Lavender) and why I love it so much. I am starting to love natural deodorants and I can't wait to try some more with new scents. These feel great on my skin and prevent me from smelling like a sweaty mess. The only thing I hated about this particular one was the scent, next time I would definitely get a different scent.

What are your favorites this month?

Start The New Year With Spongelle

December 27, 2015

Let me start off by saying Happy Holidays! This is the greatest time of year so I hope you got to celebrate with family and friends. I always look forward to this time of year because I love hanging out with family and I also love trying out new products. Whenever it's the holiday season there are always new products that launch, and I always tend to want them. But these Spongelle products are completely new to me. I don't typically use scented body washes so these were fun to try.

One of my favorites is the Boxed Flowers Body Wash Infused Buffer in Coconut Verbena ($16), the scent is actually what drew me into it the most. I love coconut scents and this one smells quite strong but it isn't extremely overpowering which I love. The boxed flowers infused buffer is actually meant to moisturize, rejuvenate, and restore your skin. It is also formulated to cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate, and massage. I can definitely feel all of that except for massage, but it doesn't really matter. After using this I felt like my skin was smooth and definitely moisturized. I didn't even need to use a moisturizer after this and I love that the my body still smelt like the sponge. It didn't smell too strong though which is great, I hate scents that smell way to strong and it's impossible to get rid of it. This sponge can be used 14+ times, and I love that it comes with a hanging ribbon. I have so many sponge products that actually don't come with anything to hang a sponge which is ridiculous in my opinion. When I first opened the box and peeled off the wrapper I thought that the sponge felt really sticky, of course I knew that it should've since it is infused with body wash but I didn't expect it to feel so sticky, that was the only thing I didn't really enjoy bout it.

The Wild Flower Body Wash Infused Buffer in French Lavender  ($12) is similar to the Boxed Flowers Buffer but it definitely doesn't feel the same. This sponge definitely felt a little rougher and this sponge is designed to moisturize and rejuvenate your skin.  It's also formulated to cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate and massage. Just like the other sponge I felt all of those things except for the massaging. I did feel like this sponge wasn't as soft as the other, it definitely exfoliated but wasn't as gentle. I feel like people who don't have extremely sensitive skin will enjoy this more. This sponge can be used 14+ times just like the Boxed Flowers Buffer and it also has a ribbon to hang it up by (YAY).
If you say you don't exfoliate your feet then you're definitely missing out. I mean, who doesn't want smooth feet? This is the Pedi-Buffer in Beach Grass and it's supposed to soothe aches & pains while massaging away your stress and strain. Well....that didn't help with any of my stress but I didn't really expect it to anyways. I don't really believe in products that claim to take away stress and etc. This sponge is formulated to cleanse, buff, soften and rejuvenate the skin and it's supposed to soothe and heal rough skin. The reason why I was excited about this sponge was because I think it's a great concept, and because I own other exfoliators but it's kind of annoying to exfoliate my feet without a sponge or whatever else I'm supposed to use to exfoliate my feet. My feet did feel smoother and moisturized after this, I think it's time to stop using the other exfoliators I had because those didn't work so great while this one seemed to immediately give me smooth feet. I will definitely purchase more of this in the summer.

Spongelle has tons of products and they have different scents as well so if you're interested in purchasing something from their website http://spongelle.com you should definitely give their products a try, it's so worth it. They were also nice enough to give me a 20% off discount code to share with you guys! Use the code 'mauve20' for 20% your purchase.

Disclaimer: This product was sent to me by the company for a review. As always my opinions are 100% completely honest.

Christmas Party Makeup

December 24, 2015

It's that time of year again and I'm excited because I have an excuse to wear red lipstick now. I mean, yeah I could wear that whenever but when I think of Christmas make up I think of red lips. Usually I don't wear bold colors on an everyday basis so when I have an opportunity to wear it, I will.

Cover FX Pressed Mineral Foundation

December 22, 2015

Cover FX Pressed Mineral Foundation Review
I haven't used powder foundation in years and the only reason why I wanted to start using them again was because there were days where I didn't need that much coverage. Sometimes I would dust some translucent powder onto my face and wear some bronzer...that's it. But I knew I would need a powder foundation anyways so after doing a bit of research on powder foundations I found this Cover FX Pressed Mineral Foundation.

My First Kiko Haul

December 20, 2015

Kiko Infinity Eyeshadow 236 Pearly Champagne,Kiko Soft Touch Blush 105 Dark Rose
When I first heard all of the buzz surrounding Kiko I've been wanting to try some of their products. But when I actually went to the store I wasn't feeling very inspired to buy a lot of things, because I just spent a ton of money on Christmas presents. I ended up purchasing the Infinity Eyeshadow (236 Pearly Champagne) and the Soft Touch Blush (105 Dark Rose). There were so many products in the store and it really impressed me that there were so many different products to choose from but of course I ended up buying a new blush and eyeshadow (something I own too much of in my collection).

I was really loving all the eyeshadows they had, I actually wanted to buy about five but I decided not to. Instead, I went for this shade since it wasn't like anything I had. It's a champagne color but not too dark and not to light. It is actually a perfect inner corner highlight shade which was why I got it in the first place. $8 isn't that inexpensive for a single eyeshadow but it's definitely cheaper than a single MAC eyeshadow, and the pigmentation is great. The shadow wasn't chalky and it definitely lasted me all day.
Kiko Infinity Eyeshadow 236 Pearly Champagne

There were a lot of blushes to choose from but obviously not as much as the eyeshadow variations. Once again I knew I didn't need this many blushes but it was too affordable not to get one. It was $12 and it reminded me of the Becca blushes. The pigmentation is amazing, one swipe and it looked exactly like it does in the pan. I'm actually really impressed with this blush and I might even go and buy more. The only thing I don't like about this blush is that it didn't seem to last that long on my skin, that might be due to the fact that I have really oily skin.

My Christmas Wishlist

December 17, 2015

So Christmas is just around the corner and my parents have been asking me "what would you like for Christmas?" and honestly...I knew what I wanted but I didn't want to ask for it. I love getting gifts, don't get me wrong but sometimes it's nice to be surprised and sometimes I do like baking and watching a marathon of Christmas movies much better than receiving presents. I also love seeing the reaction of others when they open up the present I got for them because it's nice to see someone so happy over something you got them.

Sephora Rouge Infusion Lip Stain

December 13, 2015

Sephora Rouge Infusion Lip Stain Peony Rosewood
For a while I've been wanting to test these out because I love lip stains, I mean who doesn't? I actually like Sephora brand products because they're just as good as some of the higher end brands carried at the store. The first time I tried these Sephora Rouge Infusion Lip Stains, it was from a sample.

Saying Hello To Smoother Skin!

December 11, 2015

Lush Cup O' Coffee Face and Body Mask
I'm obsessed with all of Lush's face masks. It's so bad because I always end up leaving the store with about 3 new masks and since they're fresh masks there are expiration dates. If I buy more than one mask I never finish them before the expiration date (bad habit). This mask is the Cup O' Coffee Face and Body Mask, the great thing about this is that it doesn't need to be refrigerated so it lasts longer than the fresh masks. I was skeptical about this at first because seeing the word "coffee" made me imagine a really harsh product that was full of fragrance.

Lush Cup O' Coffee Face and Body MaskAs soon as I took the lid off, I was greeted with the strong smell of coffee. Don't get me wrong, I like coffee (sometimes) but the smell was way too strong for me to handle. It gave me a headache (maybe I'm over exaggerating) but the smell made me not like the product as much. When I smelt it, I suddenly felt regret. Did I make the right decision buying this?
Luckily I didn't make the wrong decision, the smell was horrible but the actual mask was great. Actually, it was wonderful. I really did notice a difference to my skin and this was much better than the other more expensive exfoliators I purchased in the past. This is kind of like an exfoliant but it isn't harsh at all. My skin felt soft and smooth afterwards, I didn't notice any dry patches anywhere. Sometimes after using a mask I will feel like all the moisture has been sucked out of my skin but I didn't feel this way with this mask. I'll definitely repurchase this after I run out.

Have you tried any of Lush's face masks before?

November Favorites!

December 6, 2015

Time flies when you're excited for the holidays. November went by so fast and now it's almost Christmas! I love December which is why I'm glad to finally be writing my November favorites. This month has definitely been a makeup filled month, not only because I wore a bunch but I also bought a bunch (someone please stop me from buying more!). My routine did change a few times in November but I always stuck to the same few products.
Ever since I got the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette I've been obsessed. I used to always go for a matte eye look but with this palette I find myself branching out more and I love it. The shades are all so pigmented and I think this will be used a lot in December since there are so many different looks I can create with it. I bought the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade a while back and didn't use it much, but I've been trying to use it more. I found that it definitely made my eyebrows look darker than the brow wiz did, this also lasted much longer. Sometimes I would use this first at the ends of my brows and then go in with the brow wiz and blend everything else in.

The MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in "Oh, Darling" has been talked about so much since it released and I'm still going crazy over it just like I did when I wrote about it on this post. It adds such a pretty glow onto my skin and I've been reaching for it every single day. I do try and switch things up but I can't stop using this. It's a limited edition product so I should probably try not to finish it so quickly. There was a time where I had been obsessed with full coverage foundations because they made my skin matte and the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Foundation was great for my oily skin. I don't like full coverage foundations anymore so I'll use my beauty blender with this to soak up a little more product and it'll give me medium coverage. Plum blushes have also been an obsession of mine for the past two months and I realized that I had a sample of the Lancome Blush Subtil Powderblush in Aplum so obviously I had to use it. All I have to say is that the color is gorgeous and the formula is amazing, when I run out of the sample size I will definitely buy the full size.

I'm someone who always sticks to the same shades of nail polishes and it could be horrible at times since I don't really have a lot to choose from. But ever since I got the OPI Nail Lacquer in Tickle My France-y I've been wearing it a lot. It's a neutral mauve shade, and I'm obviously a huge fan of mauves. OPI has a really great formula because their polishes last longer on my nails than other brands (sometimes) and it's a good thing that it lasts long because I hate having to redo my nails.

What are your November favorites?

Tarte Fanciful Favorites Deluxe Discovery Set

December 1, 2015

Tarte Fanciful Favorites Deluxe Discovery Set
When I saw this on the Sephora site I knew I had to have it. It was only $10 and I already knew that it was going to be a good deal because the mascara costs $10 by itself. It wasn't only the good deal that drew me in, it was the blush. I don't think I have any color like it but I thought that it would be a perfect color for the fall/winter. This set is no longer available online but they still have them in stores so if you haven't gotten it yet then you should.

I've been a huge fan of the Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara for a while now so I was bound to buy a new one eventually. This mascara isn't clumpy and it doesn't smudge which is why I love it so much. I haven't tried the Maracuja Oil before but I'm not a huge fan of oils so I might give this to someone instead. The star of the palette was definitely the blush, I believe it is exclusive to this set.
Tarte Fanciful Favorites Deluxe Discovery Set

  • Maracuja Oil - 0.23 oz
  • Fanciful Blush - 0.05 oz
  • Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara - 0.13 oz
Tarte's blushes are very pigmented so I wasn't expecting any different from this one. I feel like it is darker in the pan than it is swatched, but it's still a really pretty color. I think this would be great with any makeup look and definitely appropriate for this season.
Tarte Fanciful Blush

Tarte Fanciful Blush Swatch

This set is a great value and I love the mascara and blush that comes with it. For only $10 this set would be a great gift to give to someone.

Lorac Riesling Romance Palette

November 29, 2015

Lorac Riesling Romance Palette
All I have to say is, if you don't own this palette you need it. This is the Lorac Riesling Romance Palette and it only costs $15 which is insane. At first I didn't think I would like the shades but when I compared it to the other palettes I've been wanting, the shades were very similar, and this is definitely on the neutral side which is a win for me. I don't own any other Lorac palette because I don't really like how chalky they feel. But this palette was definitely worth the $15, I've used it a few times since I ordered it from Ulta and I'm really glad I made the purchase.

My Current Makeup Routine

November 25, 2015

I've been trying to switch up routine lately but it's hard considering I love to stick with the same products. I did get a few new makeup products recently so I've been using those a lot more. My makeup usually looks the same most days because I don't have time to do it especially since I don't give myself too much time to get ready before class (I should probably wake up an extra hour earlier).

Move Over Beauty Blender, Hello Sephora Pro Airbrush #55

November 19, 2015

Whoa whoa whoa! I know this sounds crazy, right?! Who would ever stop using their beauty blender?! If you told me this a year ago I wouldn't have believed you because every time I used any kind of foundation brush it made my face look streaky. But whenever I used a beauty blender everything would be blended out smoothly which was why I refused to start using foundation brush, ever. Whenever I was at Sephora I would look at the brushes and I thought that the Pro Airbrush #55 was really interesting because it looked like it was meant for powders but when I read reviews and saw a tutorial from Sephora with this brush I found out it could be used for liquid foundations.

I was hesitant to try it out at first because it was $34 and that is really expensive. Of course I had to think about the pros and cons of "What if I don't like this blush for my foundation?", well I decided that if I didn't like the brush for foundation then I could use it for setting my face with translucent powder or even using it as a blush brush. I got this during the VIB Rouge sale so there was 20% which made my decision even easier, and let me say this....I don't regret purchasing this brush at all. It soaks up less product than my beauty blender and I only use one pump of foundation. One pump of foundation that gives me the same coverage as it does with the beauty blender which is crazy. I guess the beauty blender soaks up more products because it is a sponge after all.

Even though I love this brush I don't think I'll be throwing out my beauty blender any time soon. I like using my beauty blender for other things like cream contour and applying concealer which is something this brush can't really do. But if you're someone whose looking to replace their beauty blender then you should definitely get this brush, it's great for foundation and really does give an airbrush finish.

Have you tried any of the Sephora brushes before?

Switching To A More Natural Deodorant

November 17, 2015

Ever since I first started using deodorant it's been with the brands Secret or Dove. They worked so well because my underarms smelt amazing. I love having scented deodorants because who doesn't like to smell good. But throughout the years my skin has become more sensitive to products, I get itchy and allergic reactions easily. Sometimes when I used deodorant my underarms would develop a mini rash or become really itchy. It was weird because I've been using Dove for years and nothing was wrong, I even asked my doctor and was told that Dove was great for sensitive skin. So why was I still getting reactions?
I heard so much about natural deodorants and I wasn't sure how to feel about those because sometimes my skin is so sensitive that it even gets allergic to products made specifically for sensitive skin. When I couldn't deal with the allergic reactions anymore I decided to switch to the Lavanila Healthy Deodorant and let me tell you this, my life has changed. No more itchy underarms from the rashes, and no more allergic reactions. I didn't have to worry about going to the dermatologist or finding some creams to put on it.

The reason why this has been helping my skin is probably due to the fact that it has natural ingredients. It doesn't contain aluminum, mineral oils and parabens. I've heard rumors about deodorants blocking the sweat ducts and not allowing the body to sweat. I'm not an expert on deodorants but if I could keep myself smelling good with using natural products then I would. I spend so much money on makeup already, I think it's even better to spend the money on something that can help take care of my body.

This deodorant also feels very light, I've used deodorants that feel so heavy and thick (pretty disgusting description, I'm sorry). Since this deodorant feels light, I feel like it doesn't do that great of a job at keeping me from sweating. I don't do any sports so I think this deodorant is fine for me, it doesn't melt off and it makes me smell good. I bought this deodorant in the vanilla lavender scent and I absolutely hate this scent, it reminds me of bathroom spray. My sister even said it smelt like toilets and I have to agree. Sometimes when I wear this I can smell it, and sometimes I can't. After a while I've gotten used to the scent so it doesn't bother me as much as it used it. If you have sensitive skin or you're looking for a more natural deodorant I highly recommend this.

Have you tried any natural deodorants?

Sephora VIB Rouge Sale Haul (Part 2)

November 15, 2015

This is the last part, I promise! I love watching hauls but I realized that I hate having them because that means I probably spent a lot of money on products I didn't need. Whenever I'm at Sephora I always get sucked into trying new things and I guess that isn't too bad. I love trying new products and finding what works for me.

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation + Oily Skin = ?

November 12, 2015

I know what you're probably thinking, luminous and oily skin in the same sentence means it'll be a disaster. That's what I thought but I read a lot of reviews about this product saying that it isn't suited for dry skin. Does that mean it could possibly be good for oily skin? This foundation is the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation and retails for $48, kind of pricy but it is NARS. This is the first NARS foundation I used so I wasn't expecting too much because I didn't have anything else to compare it to. I've never tried anything luminous before, I tend to stay away from that. The only reason why I wanted this was because 1) the packaging is stunning and 2) I've also read reviews from oily skin people saying it works really well on their skin. I wore this to school at around 60 degree weather thinking that this would probably be good since it's sort of cold out, which means that this foundation might last longer on my face.

I'll have to say that the finish is amazing when you first apply it. The only thing I don't like about the formula is that it is very watery. When I first put the product onto the back of my hand I felt like the foundation went all over the place, I'm not used to this kind of formulation so it took me by surprise. This foundation is pretty light weight but it covers redness and some breakouts which is great. I found that it didn't really look luminous on my skin, the finish was pretty matte and that could've been because I used a matte setting powder right on top.
I put this foundation on at 9 am and by the time it was 4 pm I felt like it was starting to get very oily. From 9 to 1 it felt completely normal as in not being able to feel any foundation on my face, it was lightweight. Around 2 I could feel my face being oily, I didn't even have to look in the mirror to know that it was oily. It looked and felt like everything was melting off which is something I dislike about this foundation.

Overall I did find that this foundation only lasted a few hours on my oily skin but I think the reason why it could've been melting off my face was because of the thick sweater and jacket I was wearing, which made me feel sweaty and that equals oily skin. But I really do like this foundation but I don't think it's worth the $48 so this might have to be returned.

What's your favorite foundation?

Sephora VIB Rouge Sale Haul (Part 1)

November 9, 2015

I had to write part 1 in the title because I know that I'm going to be ordering more. Before I went to the store I had an entire list in mind but unfortunately a bunch of products I wanted wasn't available so I'm going to have to order them. Usually around the holidays I get excited about all the holiday kits that are out but this year there wasn't really anything that intrigued me.

How I Save Money When Buying Makeup!

November 5, 2015

How I Save Money When Buying Makeup

I know that I'm not the only person who has a slight makeup obsession...ok, maybe a huge obsession. Well I know that sometimes it can be upsetting when you realize how much money you spent on makeup that you probably didn't need. I remember the first time I became a VIB I freaked out because I thought that it was a lot of money spent, but when I reached the VIB Rouge status I knew that I had become completely addicted. Over the years I learned so much more when it comes to saving money on makeup so here are a few tips.

My October Favorites

November 4, 2015

Is it bad that I'm excited October is over? I mean I love this month but once October is over it means that it's November which means it's almost time for Christmas! I love the holidays so I get overly excited when the months pass by quickly. Throughout this month I did find myself using some of my older products that I had pushed to the side.

I remember when I first started wearing makeup the palette I wanted the most was the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette, and when I finally got it I wore it non stop. For a while I've been using different eye shadows and forgetting this palette so when I used this again I fell in love all over again. I love the shimmery shades and find that this is perfect for an everyday look especially days that I'm running late because it's so easy to use.

When I first purchased this Anastasia Beverly Hills Concealer I didn't expect much, I was tired of the MAC concealer I owned so I decided to try this. It is really creamy and I do find that it doesn't slide all over the place which is great for my oily skin. It also covers up my blemishes without having to pile on a ton.

The Laura Mercier Translucent powder is my holy grail setting powder BUT when it's getting weather is getting colder I like to use the Cover FX Matte Setting Powder because it doesn't make me as matte as I usually am when I wear the Laura Mercier one. During the colder months I like to have a more natural finish on my skin which is why I've been reaching for this almost every day.

OH MY GOODNESS. If you haven't tried the NARS Sin blush before then go to Sephora right now and try it on. You need this shade in your collection! This is my first NARS blush and I wrote a blog post on this as well, but I have to say that this is one of my favorite blushes. I never really had a berry blush before so this was completely different for me, and I've been wearing this every single day. It makes me feel very fall like and I'm obsessed.

I'm always reaching for pinky browns and one of my favorites is from MAC. It's in the shade Spirit and oh my goodness, I've been wearing this almost everyday and I really love how it looks. It makes my makeup look flawless, I can't even explain how much I love it because there are no words that can sum up how I feel about this.

Have you tried any of these products? What are you favorites this month?

Ulta Haul!

November 1, 2015

Recently Ulta had a sale which was 20% off and 10% off prestige brands so I knew that I had to buy something from there. I had to take advantage of the sale but oddly enough I didn't buy much. Maybe it was because Sephora was having their 20% sale soon which is a better deal than what I'm getting at Ulta.

My First Charlotte Tilbury Modern Matte Revolution Lipstick

October 29, 2015

Charlotte Tilbury Modern Matte Revolution Lipstick Very Victoria
I haven't been this excited about a lipstick....ever. I'm sure everyone has heard of this lipstick, I mean look at it. The packaging is stunning, all of Charlotte Tilbury's products are amazing and what drew me to this lipstick was the words "matte" and of course, the shade. I bought mine in the shade Very Victoria and this retails for $32. The price is sort of high for a lipstick, but I compared it to some other lipsticks that I've been wanting such as the NARS Audacious lipsticks, and this was the same price. So I went on to compare the quality of the brands and ended up buying this which I'm extremely happy about.

I love my nude lipsticks, anything that could be worn everyday is a perfect lipstick for me because I'm not the type of person who likes wearing bold lipsticks. I'm trying to change that this year though, but still...I cannot stay away from my nude lipsticks. This color is described as a taupe nude and I can see some pink in it as well, it's honestly the perfect nude shade. I wore this to class the other day and found that it lasted somewhat long. I think that since it's matte but also very hydrating, it didn't last as long as I wanted it to. But I usually don't wear my lipsticks for more than 12+ hours anyways so it's no big deal for me; I will say that this stayed on while I ate a sandwich and granola bar. What I enjoyed most about this lipstick was that it was hydrating and didn't drag across my lips like some matte lipsticks. Usually mattes are more on the dry side but this felt like a lip balm, but looked like a matte lipstick which made this a winner for me.
Charlotte Tilbury Modern Matte Revolution Lipstick Very Victoria
 (Swatch of Very Victoria)
I know that this will become one of my favorite lipsticks because of the shade, the formula and the packaging. I'm already planning to buy some more shades, but of course I'll be choosing carefully since these are very pricy.

Do you own any of Charlotte Tilbury's lipsticks?

Impressed to Buy the Full Size?

I've been inspired to start this new series for the longest time. Why? Well I've been ordering so much makeup & skincare products online (yikes); we all know that at most of these stores we get samples with our purchase and do any of these samples ever prompt us into buying the full size of it? I've gathered a few of these samples that I've received and tried them out a few days after. I can say that there are some good products and of course, some bad.

October 25, 2015

So I'm starting to reach for darker lipsticks, most of the time I stick to my pink and nude colors. But of course when it's the colder months which means hot drinks, scarves, and coats; that's the time where I feel most comfortable wearing a bolder lipstick color. Weird right? I wish I wore bolder lipsticks on the everyday basis but I always tend to stick to my typical pinky nude colors. But this fall I'm going to be making myself wear darker lipsticks more often. I only have a few in my collection, but when I think of fall lip colors these are the ones I think about.

Adding a New Highlighter to My Collection!

October 22, 2015

I'm pretty sure everyone has heard about the new MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in the shade "Oh, Darling". It's been talked about all over social media ever since pictures came out, and when I saw swatches online I wasn't too convinced to get it. Why? I felt like it didn't look like anything extraordinary and I have so many highlighters already, how much can I use, right? That's what I thought until I went to the MAC counter today just to give it a look in person.

The Face Shop: Blackhead Out Charcoal Nose Strip

October 20, 2015

I'll be honest and say that it took me twenty minutes trying to think of a good title for this post. Why? Because I was honestly conflicted with how I felt about this product. Korean skincare has been extremely popular and you see a ton of products at Sephora, but my favorite place to buy Korean skincare products are from The Face Shop. I previously did a review on some make up removing products from The Face Shop as well and I completely love those products. For a while I've been trying to get rid of some of my blackheads, I've tried so many different masks including the very expensive Glam Glow but nothing has been working that well. When I went to The Face Shop and saw that this was only $1 I knew I had to give it a try. Most of their products that I've tried before seemed to be suitable for my sensitive skin so I didn't think this would be a problem.

5 Underrated Beauty Products

5 Underrated Beauty Products
There are so many beauty products in the market and obviously there are always some that aren't as talked about as some other products. I love reading blogs and watching Youtube videos, sometimes I notice the same products being raved about; but there are some products that barely get a mention. So I picked 5 products that I feel are underrated, and they're also products that I love.
MAC Prolongwear Blush Stay By Me
MAC Pro Longwear Blush (Stay By Me): This is a semi-matte blush and I would describe it as a light coral blush. This shade is different than my other blushes because it gives me that natural flush of color to my cheeks but with that coral hint to it. It's pigmented but I actually like applying this with a flat top foundation brush because it packs on more color to my cheeks. Since I'm pale during the fall/winter I feel like I have to apply a little more than I usually do in the summer when I'm tan. Whenever I'm going for an all natural look I usually go for this blush.

Bobbi Brown Retouching Powder Yellow
Bobbi Brown Retouching Powder (Yellow): I feel like this year everyone has been obsessed with banana/yellow powder for under their eyes. I do find that when I use this on top of my under eye concealer it looks yellow, but when I apply this over areas of my face where it's redness or has a break out then it looks just like the other parts of my face which is what I want. The yellow powder is to tone down redness and I do find that this works. This week I had a presentation in class and there was a huge pimple in the middle of my eyebrows. I tried so hard to conceal it but it looked so obvious that I was covering something up because the redness was still showing through. It took me a few days before I realized that I should've been using this to set the concealer because when I finally used this on that one pimple, it looked normal again. You could still see the little bump but the redness had went away.
Lorac porefection mattifying face primer
Lorac POREfection Mattifying Face Primer: When I first started wearing makeup I was struggling with my oily skin, there were so many mattifying foundations I found that did not work for me at all. After I started to learn more about makeup I realized that maybe I should use a primer, I was still not that great with knowing which products were right for me so I spent so much money buying a ton of Laura Mercier primers, it said "oil free" so I thought it meant "good for oily skin", I was so clueless. But as time went on and I experimented with different primers, I discovered this one and fell in love. I've repurchased this at least three times and I don't think I could ever stop using this. Even in the winter when my skin gets a little more dry it still works for me.

Becca watermelon beach tint

Becca Beach Tint (Watermelon): This product saved me in the summer! I feel like I've always been searching for a tint but never found one that worked for me. But in the summer I went to the beach a lot and occasionally I liked to have some color added to my face of course. I would wear a BB cream and have this color on my cheeks, my lips included as well but it always looked so natural which I loved. Whenever a tint actually leaves a tint and stays on my lips/face then I know it's a winner.
Ciate London Liquid Velvet Matte Lip Slick Swoon
Ciate Liquid Velvet Matte Lip Slick (Swoon): So ever since I discovered liquid lipsticks I've become obsessed. I own some liquid lipsticks from Colourpop, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and NYX; they're all great but Ciate has great liquid lipsticks as well. Even though the color range is small, I still think that there are a few staple colors that would suit everyone. The shade swoon caught my eye because I really love the nude brown shades and this one fit the description. Sometimes depending on the lip liner I'm wearing this will have a hint of dark brown or pink. But I think this is perfect for an everyday makeup look and it's not drying at all.

Are there any beauty products that you think are underrated?

NARS Sin, Perfect Blush For Fall?

October 15, 2015

I'm very excited to announce a new member of my blush collection! This is also the first NARS blush I own which is why I've been anxiously waiting for its arrival. Let me just say that this shade "Sin", is definitely different than all the other blushes I own because it has more of a berry/plum undertone when compared to my usual light pink blushes.

I've been wanting a new blush for a while, something that would be perfect for the fall. I knew that it had to be something with a plummy shade and after doing a lot of swatching in stores, I went home that night just to do more research online. I'm the type of person who has to spend at least a week researching a product before I buy it because if there are more negative reviews about a product than positive, then I most likely won't buy the product to try out. But with these NARS blushes, it seems as if it's a must have in every makeup lover's collection.

When I recieved my Sephora package I was in love with how the beautiful this blush was and of course I had to swatch it again. It was so pigmented! It honestly shocked me because I would usually have to swipe my finger over a product at least three times before getting an accurate color pay off, but this was very pigmented.

I really think that this is the perfect blush for fall, it's very pigmented so apply it with a light hand. Sometimes I tend to go a little heavy with blush (by accident of course), and I've learned that it's easier to start off with very little product then add more if needed. Because if you use a heavy hand with this then you will definitely look like you went overboard with blush.

Do you own any blushes that would be perfect for fall?
