MAC Pro Longwear Blush (Stay By Me): This is a semi-matte blush and I would describe it as a light coral blush. This shade is different than my other blushes because it gives me that natural flush of color to my cheeks but with that coral hint to it. It's pigmented but I actually like applying this with a flat top foundation brush because it packs on more color to my cheeks. Since I'm pale during the fall/winter I feel like I have to apply a little more than I usually do in the summer when I'm tan. Whenever I'm going for an all natural look I usually go for this blush.
Bobbi Brown Retouching Powder (Yellow): I feel like this year everyone has been obsessed with banana/yellow powder for under their eyes. I do find that when I use this on top of my under eye concealer it looks yellow, but when I apply this over areas of my face where it's redness or has a break out then it looks just like the other parts of my face which is what I want. The yellow powder is to tone down redness and I do find that this works. This week I had a presentation in class and there was a huge pimple in the middle of my eyebrows. I tried so hard to conceal it but it looked so obvious that I was covering something up because the redness was still showing through. It took me a few days before I realized that I should've been using this to set the concealer because when I finally used this on that one pimple, it looked normal again. You could still see the little bump but the redness had went away.
Lorac POREfection Mattifying Face Primer: When I first started wearing makeup I was struggling with my oily skin, there were so many mattifying foundations I found that did not work for me at all. After I started to learn more about makeup I realized that maybe I should use a primer, I was still not that great with knowing which products were right for me so I spent so much money buying a ton of Laura Mercier primers, it said "oil free" so I thought it meant "good for oily skin", I was so clueless. But as time went on and I experimented with different primers, I discovered this one and fell in love. I've repurchased this at least three times and I don't think I could ever stop using this. Even in the winter when my skin gets a little more dry it still works for me.
Becca Beach Tint (Watermelon): This product saved me in the summer! I feel like I've always been searching for a tint but never found one that worked for me. But in the summer I went to the beach a lot and occasionally I liked to have some color added to my face of course. I would wear a BB cream and have this color on my cheeks, my lips included as well but it always looked so natural which I loved. Whenever a tint actually leaves a tint and stays on my lips/face then I know it's a winner.
Ciate Liquid Velvet Matte Lip Slick (Swoon): So ever since I discovered liquid lipsticks I've become obsessed. I own some liquid lipsticks from Colourpop, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and NYX; they're all great but Ciate has great liquid lipsticks as well. Even though the color range is small, I still think that there are a few staple colors that would suit everyone. The shade swoon caught my eye because I really love the nude brown shades and this one fit the description. Sometimes depending on the lip liner I'm wearing this will have a hint of dark brown or pink. But I think this is perfect for an everyday makeup look and it's not drying at all.
Are there any beauty products that you think are underrated?
Loving the look of that blush! Such a pretty color.

Thirteen Thoughts
It's so different than the other blushes I own even though they're all in the same color range.
DeleteIt's great to see an underrated post! I didn't know Ciate do liquid lipsticks so I'll keep an eye out for those. Ooh I can't think of names off the top of my head but a lot of drugstore lipsticks are great! Maybe the bare minerals blushers/eyeshadows :)
ReplyDeleteVelvet Blush
Their liquid lipsticks are the best, I'll have to get some more soon. I've never tried any bare minerals products before besides the foundation, and my favorite drug store lipsticks are from Rimmel.
DeleteI had no idea that Ciate has a liquid lipstick range, must have been living under the rock! Becca products are generally good, I have the Shimmering Perfector and a lipstick and adore both. I have been eyeing this tint for some time now, might just bite the bullet and pick it up soon.

I think the liquid lipsticks are fairly new lol! I'm obsessed with Becca, it sucks that their products are so expensive but it's so worth it. The tint is so worth it also.
DeleteSuch a fab selection of products. The Becca Beach Tint sounds really nice! x

Thank you! And it really is and Becca has amazing color range as well.
DeleteThank you! And the Mac blush has become a new obsession of mine.
ReplyDeleteOoh, the Lorac primer sounds amazing! I'm still pretty new to makeup and have terribly oily skin. I don't use a primer just because I don't know where to start, but I think you've just given me a place to, thank you, Kelly!

It really does! I'm still shocked.
DeleteI think MAC makes wonderful blushes, majority of my blushes are from them but I don't have "stay by me", my current favourite right now is "gingerly", it's also a pretty blush!
ReplyDeleteMiriam ♥ A whole lot of serendipity
MAC never disappoints when it comes to blushes. I've never tried gingerly but I'll have to give that one a try next.
DeleteGreat list - I actually count MAC blushes amongst my favorites.

Thank you, and me too. The quality is always great.
DeleteI'll have to keep my eyes peeled for that Lorac mattifying primer, because I really need one for my T-zone. I am on my first Laura Mercier primer and I can't say I'm in love with it. It's not bad, but I think I need a mattifying primer rather than a regular one for my T-zone. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteI think that it's a great primer to have, I found that the Laura Mercier primer didn't help me and was overrated unfortunately.
DeleteThe MAC blusher is such a gorgeous colour! So pretty!
