Impressed to Buy the Full Size?

bumble & bumble, nars velvet matte lip pencil cruella, benefit porefessional, tarte lights camera flashes mascara, coco mademoiselle perfume

I've been inspired to start this new series for the longest time. Why? Well I've been ordering so much makeup & skincare products online (yikes); we all know that at most of these stores we get samples with our purchase and do any of these samples ever prompt us into buying the full size of it? I've gathered a few of these samples that I've received and tried them out a few days after. I can say that there are some good products and of course, some bad.

  • Bumble & Bumble Surf Foam Wash Shampoo & Surf Creme Rinse Conditioner: If you love your hair then stray away from this product. All I can say is that after I used this, my hair felt like I had been in the ocean for 7 days and my hair is suddenly dry and a bit sticky. I get that it's a "surf" type of product that's supposed to go along with the surf spray as well, but how can anyone stand their hair feeling this dry from a product? I've used sea salt sprays in the past and none of them have ever made my hair feel this way.
  • Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional Face Primer: This is such a raved about product and I can somewhat see what all the hype is about. I'm not sure if it did much to cover my pores but I did find that it helped me stay a little matte. The only thing I didn't like was that it kinda rolled off my face, it kind of crumbled on my face and it was weird. Does anyone else have that happen to them?
  • Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Statement Mascara: I really enjoyed this mascara. Tarte's mascaras haven't disappointed me and I was glad this one didn't. I already have a lot of mascaras but maybe when I finish everything I will get this.
  • NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (Cruella): I really liked this red lip pencil! The formula was great and I felt like it wasn't hard to apply. Some matte lip products are very drying and if it's a red matte product it could be even worse to apply. But I found that this one was very easy to put on and since it was a lip pencil I didn't need to line my lips. I will for sure be buying this in a full size once this is used up and I will be buying more colors.
  • Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Perfume: I've been addicted to fragrances ever since I was in middle school and I've been using so many that I feel like I never really finish a fragrance. But when I was at Sephora I decided to get this sample since I really liked the other Chanel fragrance but never tried this. This lasted long enough for me and I love the smell of it. It made me feel very sophisticated.
Are there any samples that have impressed you to buy a full size?

  1. I had the same problem with the Porefessional face primer. It just rolled off my face in little clumps! x

    1. I wonder if it has to do with skin type or how we apply it. It's really strange.

  2. Nice!! :) I also don't like Bumble & Bumble hair stuff...I find that they're damaging to hair. I guess it's for people who want very textured hair that looks like they were at the beach!

I didn't like Porefessional as much as I wanted to. It seems very silicone-y, and I suppose since my face is drier it wouldnt work well on my skin anyway :p
I love Coco! That's my signature day to day perfume :)

    1. I like some of their products but I stay away from the products that is aimed towards textured hair usually, especially the beach stuff. It's too bad because this product has been talked about for so long. This perfume has got to be my next purchase, it smells amazing.

  3. I've never really got all the fuss about the Porefessional to be honest! It's fine, but not great!
Sounds like the Bumble & Bumble is definitely one to stay away from, thanks for the heads-up!

    1. I agree with you 100% after trying this out, it wasn't WOW or anything.

  4. What a shame you had issues with the Porefessional! I find all primers tend to 'ball' up and go weird if I massage them in too much or apply them too quickly after my moisturiser so whilst I get that with the Porefessional, I've kind of learned to work with it xx

    1. Thanks for the tip, I think that it could've balled up because I put it on like a moisturizer but I should be applying it in one way. I'll have to try that.

  6. I actually really like that primer from Benefit, never had any problems with it. I wonder if the sample you received was expired or something?

    1. I'm not sure, it could be that I applied it wrong. I have 3 samples of this haha, guess I'll have to try all of them out.
