Sephora Play! June 2016

July 5, 2016

I'm still indecisive about my feelings on subscription boxes because there will always be things that are included that I won't entirely like. I made a post with my thoughts on the May Play! box (link here), but I have to say that the June Play! box was much better.

Just like the previous month, it comes in a cute little bag and it also includes a little card where you can redeem it in stores for a one on one tutorial as well as 50 bonus points with a purchase. Not bad at all since I do love saving/using points at Sephora. This month's box included:

  • Benefit They're Real! Mascara: This used to be a holy grail mascara for me, I haven't purchased this in a while so it's going to be nice to start using this again.
  • Tarte Tarteguard 30 Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30: Unfortunately my skin hasn't been reacting well to this, it would cause tiny white bumps on most areas of my face. Luckily it did go away after a few days.
  • Bumble and Bumble Don't Blow It: I didn't see that it made any difference to my hair really, but it did make my hair feel a little smoother texture wise. I wish it gave me some more volume or anything to show me that it can transform my hair in some way.
  • Becca Backlight Priming Filter: This primer has been talked about so much, and I actually got a sample of this not too long ago. I liked how glowy it made my skin look, so when I saw that this was included I was extremely happy.
  • Bare Minerals BareSkin Sheer Sun Serum Bronzer: I haven't gotten the chance to try this out yet because I'm still trying to figure out how to use this liquid bronzers. For some reason they don't seem to blend that great on me. I've tried the NARS Laguna Liquid Bronzer and the Benefit Dew the Hoola Liquid Bronzer; but unfortunately those always got so patchy on me. I'm planning to try this one out soon because I heard a lot of great things about it, hopefully it works well on my skin type.
  • Tocca Florance Fragrance: This smelt very interesting, it was nice but not something that I could see myself wearing. I am a fan of floral scents but sometimes a scent can smell a little too floral.
Overall, I'm quite happy with this month's box. For only $10 a month this does seem like there are a lot of products since these are all high end. I liked almost every product that was included, I would really like to see some skin care or lipsticks included in the July box.
