Adding a Liquid Highlighter to my Routine

April 21, 2017

I'm so obsessed with highlighters, and I'm glad to see so many brands coming out with new releases. I've tried getting into cream highlighters but they always look patchy on my skin even if I use it before foundation. When the Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter released, I was really excited for it and ordered it right away.

This highlighter retailers at $44 for 0.8 oz. There's only one shade "Dew You?", and it is described as a golden peach. It's a very lightweight highlighter, so it could be blended with your foundation without giving it a heavy feel. I like to put half a pump of this highlighter with my foundation and mix it before applying it to my face. If I want even more of a glow I'll also apply this to my cheek bones, tip of the nose, and on my cupids bow.

I like how sleek the packaging is, very simple yet elegant. The bottle feels expensive, and for $44 I would hope the packaging isn't made of plastic. The pump of this highlighter is great because it's easy to control how much product you want to use. I have issues with some products where I'm not able to pump out half of the product, but with this one I am.

This highlighter really gives you a subtle glow depending on how much you put on. It's very easy to blend and doesn't patch up on my skin or given me any reactions. I have extremely sensitive skin so I react a lot of cream/liquid highlighters for some reason.
When I layer powder highlighters on top of this, it looks even more amazing. I've been getting a lot of questions about my highlight from people lately and it's usually this along with Becca's champagne pop. If you want to get into liquid highlighters I highly recommend this one, it may be pricy but a little goes a long way. Sephora currently has a sale going on so purchase it now before the sale ends on 4/24.
