Kate Somerville Eradikate Mask

May 14, 2017

Stress + problematic skin? That's nothing new, especially now that the semester is coming to an end. Whenever I'm stressed out, I find that I get more of those pesky little break outs. I've been a fan of Kate Somerville products for years now, and you know I love the Eradikate treatment (blog post). So of course, I was pleased to find out that Kate Somerville came out with a mask!
The Eradikate Mask Foam-Activated Acne Treatment is described as an, "innovative, gel-cream mask that helps clear acne breakouts, dissolve impurities, and minimize the appearance of pores without over-drying skin." This mask contains 5% sulfur, while the acne treatment contains 10% sulfur.
I find that this mask isn't very effective, there may be an illusion that it's helping because of the foaming effects - but I haven't seen a difference in my skin which is quite disappointing. This retails for $54 with 2oz which isn't a lot of product when it comes to a foaming mask. I honestly have no idea why I splurged on this product, maybe it was because I had high hopes for it.

Whenever I used this mask, it seemed like the bottle was running out of product. On the side you could see how much product is left, and after 3 uses I felt like I probably had 2 more uses left to this. For $54 I expected more product, and amazing results.

I have extremely sensitive skin and this mask hasn't given me any reactions yet. The bubbling sensation from this mask doesn't hurt at all, it somewhat tickles as you feel it foaming up on your face. But it seems like the bubbling effect happens when the product is exposed to air, because after I pump out product from the bottle, some excess may be left at the pump and every time I take off the cap, I notice that there's a mess.

Overall, I don't think this mask is worth the money. I would stick to the Eradikate Acne Treatment which retails for about half the price. There are definitely cheaper masks out there that are more affordable, and gives better results. I'm disappointed this mask didn't work out, but I will continue my search for the perfect acne mask.

Are there any masks that you use to treat breakouts?
