Fenty Beauty: Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter & Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer

September 26, 2017

I was so excited for Rihanna's makeup line to launch, I actually stayed up till 12 am waiting for it to release...only to find out that it wouldn't be released until 3 am. But the next morning I purchased these products right away since I knew they were what I would use the most. I always love buying highlighters from a brand before diving into their other products, and I loved the shade of the lip gloss so I knew I had to give it a try.

The packaging for Fenty Beauty is really simple, sleek and edgy. I love the hexagon shape, it's different than all the other brands and the clean white and pink packaging is so my style. It's made of a smooth plastic type material, so there won't be any finger print markings on there.

I was torn between a few highlighter shades, but finally decided on one that looks least like the other highlighters I own in my collection. The Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Mean Money/Hu$tla Baby ($34/0.24oz) was what I decided on, and the day I received it in the mail....I knew I was going to become obsessed. Mean money seems to be more of an everyday subtle highlighter, it has a sheen to it but definitely won't give you that blinding highlight. I like to mix the two shades together to get the perfect glow, I even wore this to work and someone told me that my highlight looked extra glowy and metallic that day. You don't even know how happy that made me, I mean thats the goal right?

Packaging wise, I loved that the hexagon theme was constant with most of the products. This Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer ($18/0.30oz) is tiny and I love the shade of it. There is only one shade which is why I'm assuming it has universal in its name. I was really looking forward to buying this gloss since I've been using lip gloss all the time now. The formula isn't sticky, but I don't see anything special about it. I have many lip glosses that look similar in color, and the texture of this lip gloss seems to never dry down. After entering a building from outside, I'll notice that the lip gloss is on some areas of my face due to my hair touching it and then flying all over my face from the wind. Compared to my other lip glosses, this is the only one that seems to cause me that issue.

I am obsessed with the doe-foot applicator for this gloss. I find that it applies just the right amount of gloss onto my lips and I'm really satisfied with that. The lip gloss has a nice smell to it, but I find that I can often taste the lip gloss which doesn't happen for me with other glosses.

Overall, I think that Fenty Beauty is worth checking out. If you love highlighting your face, then you need the Killawat freestyle highlighter. I've already helped 3 people of my friends pick out highlighters from this collection that suits their skin tone, and they've all become obsessed with how it looks. As for the lip gloss, I don't think it's a necessary purchase but if you're a fan of the color then I'd say to go for it.

Did you buy anything from Fenty Beauty?
