August Loves

September 10, 2017

Lately I've been trying to not spend so much money on makeup because I realized that I don't end up using all/most of it. Ever since I went on my vacation I've quit wearing foundation, and I've been trying to achieve that minimal makeup look that everyone loves so much.
When I was on vacation I found that I hated wearing any type of coverage on my face because it ends up melting off and feeling gross. I had a sample of the Drunk Elephant Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense (2oz/$36). What I loved about this was that it had SPF and it gave your face a very slight tint. I've used up the entire sample, but I don't think I will buy a full size only because I've been using other SPF products and only using concealer for coverage.

The days that I only wear SPF on my face, I still need some coverage on any blemishes that I have. I've been obsessed with the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer (0.21oz/$30). At first I thought it was only being overhyped, since every single blogger was talking about it! It was all over social media, and I didn't want to give it a try until a friend of mine recommended it to me. I use this for under my eyes as well as covering up any blemishes. It lasts all day and doesn't crease on my face. I know that I'll repurchase this soon because I'm almost all out of it!

This is one of the priciest bronzers I own, but I love it so much. I feel like this could definitely last a long time, and it really is worth the price tag. The Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base (1oz/$50) is perfect for those days where you want a natural looking bronze. I'm going to keep mentioning my vacation, but when I went to the beach I only wore my ABH Brow Definer, NARS Soft Matte Concealer, along with this bronzer. It looked very natural, and I even had people ask me what bronzer it was after telling them I was wearing makeup, because of how well it blended into my skin.

This is probably my fourth repurchase, but I really love the Laura Mercier Transluscent Powder (1oz/$38) because of how well it keeps my makeup in place. I do wish that it didn't include talc for an ingredient, but I've been using this powder for years now and I found that it's the only powder that truly holds up. I'll "bake" my face while I do my eyeshadow, and then blend this in afterwards and it gives me a really beautiful finish. I know that during the VIB sale I'll have to stock up on this due to how fast I always run out.
